History

Cerrando el ciclo (Completing the cycle) was born in 2013 under the concept of promoting the revaluation of waste. Its founder, José Luis Pérez González, proposes the idea of changing the perception of garbage and seeing the transformation and use of waste as a trigger for social development.

We started as a non-profit organization with the aim of training women in vulnerable situations to become «Glass Recycling Entrepreneurs» offering an economic alternative by collecting and transforming the glass bottles that people throw away.

In 2019 we evolved as a company that promotes the innovation, transformation and revaluation of glass bottles, showing that a glass bottle is more than waste and that with creativity and passion it can become a business model with social and environmental impact.

Transformamos botellas de vidrio en productos innovadores.

Si no puede reciclar, reusa. Si no puedes reusar, reduce. Pero haz algo.

Why we do it?

In Mexico more than 3 million tons of glass are generated each year, but only 12% is recycled, the rest is buried in landfills or scattered in forests or seas. The problem is not only that glass takes 4,000 years to degrade, but the constant extraction of virgin raw material for its production.

Unlike other waste, glass has no value in the market (between 40c and 1 peso per Kg), therefore it is not of interest to recyclers.

Another alarming fact is that  4 out of 10 bottles of distilled beverages consumed in Mexico are pirated. There is a market for the purchase of empty bottles that are used for this purpose.

Vision

To be a reference as a company that generates triple impact from the transformation of a glass bottle.

Mission

Contribute to the use of glass bottles through innovation, awareness and social entrepreneurship.

Values

Passion, Responsibility, Respect, Integrity, Perseverance
